Our Lady of Fatima Circle 834 of Baraboo Wisconsin were very busy in 2016. Their various activities are promoted and shared with members and the community by newsletters and newspaper articles.
With the Jubilee Year of Mercy in their hearts, Our Lady of Fatima Circle 834, sponsored a pilgrimage in June to two Doors of Mercy in Wisconsin. The Basilica of Holy Hill, Shrine of Mary-Help of Christians and the Shoenstatt Shrine in Madison Wisconsin have both been named Holy Doors of Mercy. Mass was celebrated in the Basilica. After lunch they traveled to Shoenstatt Shrine and enjoyed a lesson in the history of the shrine. It was a wonderful trip spent in faith and friendship. They developed new friendships with members of other parishes and created memories to cherish. When was the last time your circle sponsored a pilgrimage?
In response to the 40 Days for Life campaign, they sponsored a donation drive for Women’s Care Center of Madison. In addition to donations, they, with rosary in hand, volunteered over 100 hours to praying for an end to abortion. They greeted the United 40 Day for Life Bus Tour and signed the bus with the circle name and motto to be seen by all as the bus travels from state to state.
In October the members participated in a pilgrimage of almost 8 miles to close out the Year of Mercy. They lead the rosary on the long walk to Camp Gray. There they participated in mass and helped provide lunch to the travelers at the end of their journey. As Daughters of Isabella, they came together in Unity, Friendship and Charity.
