The Daughters of Isabella held its 2014 International Biennial Convention at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto, Ontario, Canada from August 3-6, 2014. This year’s theme was “Getting Involved Today for Tomorrow”.
Opening Mass was held on Sunday, August 3rd at St Paul’s Basilica in Toronto concelebrated by His Eminence Thomas Cardinal Collins, Archbishop of Toronto as well as Episcopal Advisor Bishop Emelius Goulet, Archbishop Emeritus of Saint Boniface, Montreal, Quebec; and numerous State and Local Chaplains.
On Sunday evening, a special dinner was held with entertainment “BEST OF THE BEST/LA CRÈME DE LA CRÈME” EVENING.
On Monday morning, August 4th, members attended two workshops – The first presented was a Spirituality Workshop by Rev. Trevor Scarfone, State Chaplain of the Trillium-Ontario State Circle and Monsignor Daniel Berniquez, State Chaplain of Sudest Ontarien State Circle. The second workshop was presented by International Secretary/Treasurer Susanne Suchy and International Vice Regent Diane Corriveau. At 2:00 pm, the business session began.
Approximately 433 Delegates, members and guests were registered for the Convention and in attendance at the Closing Banquet held on Wednesday evening, August 6th. Installation of Officers for the 2014-2016 term was held during the Closing Mass, held at St Paul’s Basilica in Toronto, celebrated by Episcopal Advisor Bishop Emelius Goulet and numerous as State and Local Chaplains.

- International Regent: Diane Corriveau
- International Vice Regent: Susanne Suchy
- International Past Regent: Christiane Chagnon
- International Secretary/Treasurer: Monique Kelly
- International Directors for the US: Sharon Hengehold and Judy Schisel
- International Directors for Canada: Monique Leveille and Denise Viger
During the Mass, a special Memorial Service was held for deceased members of the Local, State and International Circles and Chaplains.
“A Royal Banquet” was the theme for the banquet held on Wednesday evening followed by a fun evening of dancing to ABBA music.
The popular Walk-A-Thon to benefit Breast Cancer Awareness was held at 6 am on Tuesday, August 5th, with many, many members participating. Also, during the convention, a huge Respect Life Baby Shower was held, with hundreds of gifts donated by members of the United States and Canada circles.
During the business meeting, on Wednesday, August 8th, International Regent Christiane Chagnon made a special announcement regarding the following charitable givings for the 2012-2014 period: Monetary Donations: $3,355,786 Volunteer Hours: 4,025,636
During the convention, awards were presented to the circles who were winners of the Cross and Crown Award and Isabella Award. Awards were also presented for membership and newsletters.
